Final Project

Our last assignment is creating a content of images using all the tool we used throughout the semester. For my theme I took pictures around my neighborhood, and use photoshop to create some strange patterns and figures.

This image was from the neighbor's house with three satellite dishes. This is strange for me because, I've never seen anybody needed those so I had to take this shot. I used the pen tool on one of those dishes then duplicated another to create some kind of creature. I also used the curve tool to blend in with the sun and the shadow to make it look realistic.

This next image is suppose to be a face with sewers and burn marks. My neighbor is full of small sewers and burn marks because probably, there are lots of cars that the neighbors keep and more underground sewage. Before taking this shot, that road was completely full of burn marks, so I had to use retouch for this image, then using the pen tool to create something new.

This third image was taken at home. For some reason, I had no idea why I took this, but I had to find another weird idea for my content. I guess I need to be more clear and accurate on what I'm doing for this project so sorry for the confusion. Once again, I used the pen tool for the basketballs to create a tower. The point for this one is creating space and its unusual because when you stack more than one thing, the objects usually spill instantly. But definitely needs work on the curves, because the light is off on basketball on top, and it looks really fake.

This last image, was my toughest of all three. As I walked up the hill, there was this wired fence with attachments holding each wires. I used the pen tool and the magic wand to copy those attachments and place them where ever I want to put them in order to make it look weird and real. The bottom however was tricky, because some of those attachment were jagged and pen tool can't be always accurate as you wanted to be.

All those four images were my final four printouts for the final project. I had two more which I didn't pick because it looked original and not enough difficulty. Out of all the 300 images I shot, those four are my main ones to present to photography class.

Multi Source Image

Elliott Chin

The face and the fabric goes great as to burn something from anything. The color especially stands with the face and the fabric blending into an illusion.

Retouch assignment

After months of taking pictures with different techniques, it would appears that the class is going into photoshop. The retouch assignment requires to take old photos and make it look better by using photoshop. The class had to use only 3 tools for this assignment and those tools are called clone stamp, healing tool, patch tool. For me, I had to use three photos for this assignment because my images are small so and because of that I mistakenly forgot to set the image size for the three of the images.

This photo was taken when my mother was in South Korea with my relatives. I took this photo for retouch because that is the only photo I could find that was difficult to fix. Most likely the rips on the side the debris, on the buildings, and my relatives are the only one I had to retouch for this picture.

This next photo was just something my parent took a long time ago, so was also a picture to fix. I can see this photo is more likely to fix the color and shadows around the area where they don't mix.

This Last photo to your left is just a picture of a small fruit plant. Not much to fix other there specks on the photos and some tears on the side. I typed in which ones were the retouch and what was the original because before I started the assignment I forgot to set the image size! So next time, before I go and do anything on photoshop I'll set up the image size before I go and do my assignment.

Quality of light

Quality of light is taking pictures with different lightings and colors. We have to take 60 pictures, add 4 tiff photos, and print out 2 photos to present to class. These are the 4 pictures and my 2 print out for the presentation.

This one is right next to photography class 136 and my print out for the presentation. I added adjustments with the saturation, color, and many more with the scene.

The next one is simple so I thought I put it out as one of my best. But it turn out, that most of the classmates wasn't satisfied with the photo I chose. Even though I tried to make the adjustment look interesting, it still wasn't good enough.

This one is my favorite. I chose this because how the color of the sky and the shade of the neighborhood blended in with totally different settings making a whole new picture. But the classmates wanted to see more details so that is something I should keep that in mind next time.

This is also my next photo for my presentation.

This was something I took because of how strong the sodium vapor shine but I guess I should step it up and be more creative when it comes to taking pictures.
Most of my pictures I took is at school and at my house and because of that I go to work Thurs through Sun and I don't get to go around into intresting places so this is something that I should really work hard on for future things.

Finished metering and bracketing assignment

To all the students at artdm136, I apologize for the wrong address. When I was checking my blog, it would appears that someone else has the same address as mine! So my new address is "echinartdm136.blogspot.com".

This are the four scenes I shot, but because I had to shoot more I had to find a scene for the assignment.

Blogging for photography class

This is my first time blogging so I think this will be an experience for me and the new year. In my photography class the whole class have to take 48 pictures in 24 hours. As I was doing my homework, I have to be sure the pictures have a clear resolution but trying to make it look interesting. With a lot of focus, I manage to get it all done.
